Any person who has been convicted of a sex crime after December 25, 1993 must register as a sex offender in the state of Wisconsin.  A juvenile who has been adjudicated delinquent on or after December 25, 1993 for a sex crime must register as a sex offender.

A sex offense in Wisconsin is defined as any of the following:

• Sexual exploitation by a therapist
• Sexual assault
• Sexual assault of a minor
• Sexual assault of a student by a school instructional staff person
• Engaging in repeated acts of sexual assault of the same minor
• Incest
• Incest with a minor
• Sexual exploitation of a minor
• Causing a minor to view or listen to sexual activity
• Child enticement
• Use of a computer to facilitate a child-sex offense
• Soliciting a minor for prostitution
• Exposing a minor to harmful material or descriptions
• Possession of child pornography
• Being a child sex offender who works with children
• Abduction of a minor
• False imprisonment, if the offender is not a parent
• Kidnapping if the victim was a minor and the offender was not their parent
