New Jersey law allows the Division of State Police to make available to the public over the Internet to assist the public in protecting and informing themselves. The information that is made available on the Internet to facilitate public records access on those who have committed a sex offense. The registry is not a complete and comprehensive listing of every person has committed sex offenses in the state. It also does not include information on al sex offenders in the state of New Jersey.

Any person that is convicted, found not guilty by reason of insanity or adjudicated delinquent, the person must register as a sex offender.

Juveniles are required to if they have been adjudicated delinquent for:

Aggravated sexual assault
Sexual assault
Aggravated criminal sexual contact
Kidnapping
Endangering the welfare of a minor
Luring or enticing
Criminal sexual contact
Kidnapping
Criminal restraint pursuant
False imprisonment
Knowingly promoting prostitution of a minor
Attempt to commit any of the offenses listed above

The following information is required from all registrants:

Name
Social Security Number
Age
Race
Sex
Date of Birth
Height and Weight
Hair and eye color
Address of legal residence
Address of any current temporary residence
Date and place of employment
Date and place of each conviction, adjudication or acquittal by reason of insanity
Indictment number
Fingerprints
Offenses for which registration is required
Any information that the New Jersey Attorney General deems necessary to assess risk of future commission of an offense
Criminal and corrections records
Nonprivileged personnel, treatment and abuse registry records
Evidentiary genetic markers
