The Nevada Sex Offender Registry authorizes the public to access certain sex offender information.  This information has recently been posted on the Internet.  The information was previously available by the phone query.  The State Criminal History Repository is required to maintain a website that provides information regarding the sex offender's location and crimes committed by the person.  The Sex Offender Registry Unit updates the website on a regular basis.  However, there is the chance that this information is not completely correct.

Sex offenders and offenders who have been convicted of a crime against a child must register.  Sex offenders are individuals who have been convicted after July 1, 1956 of a sexual offense or adjudicated delinquent or found guilty by a court having jurisdiction over juveniles of a sexual offense.  Crimes against a child means that one of the following crimes have been committed:

  • Kidnapping, unless by the parent
  • False imprisonment
  • Offense involving prostitution or pandering
  • Attempt to commit one of the above offenses
  • An offense that is committed in another jurisdiction that would be a crime against a child if in Nevada.

A sexually violent predator is a person who has been convicted of a sexually violent offense, mental personality disorder or declared to be a sexually violent predator.

Sexual offenses in Nevada include:

  • Murder in the first degree with committed or attempted perpetration of sexual assault or of sexual abuse or molestation of a minor under 14.
  • Sexual assault
  • Statutory sexual adduction
  • Battery with the intent to commit sexual assault
  • An offense involving the administration of a drug to another person with the intent to enable or assist the commission of a felony.  If the felony is an enumerated sexual offense.
  • Abuse of a minor, if the abuse involved sexual abuse or exploitation.
  • An offense involving pornography and a minor
  • Incest
  • Solicitation of a minor to engage in acts constituting an infamous crime against nature.
  • Open or gross lewdness
  • Indecent or obscene exposure
  • Sexual penetration of a dead human body
  • Lewdness with a minor
  • Annoyance or molestation of a minor
  • Attempt to commit an offense listed above.
  • An offense that would be an illegal sexual offense in another state or country.
