Michigan Sex Offender Registries

The Michigan State Police provide the public with the Public Sex Offender Registry to assist the public in preventing and protecting themselves from future criminal sex acts by convicted sex offenders. The Sex Offenders Registration Act requires the Michigan State Police to develop and maintain a public registry and provides guidelines for the information that is allowed to the public.

Michigan Missing Child Information Clearinghouse - Operates as an information and referral resources for the public and local law enforcement.

The following individuals are required to register with the Michigan State Police.

A person who is temporarily living or live in Michigan for 14 or more consecutive days.
A person who is working with or without compensation or are students for 14 or more consecutive days.
Those who live, reside, work or attend school in Michigan for 30 or more total days..
A person who is convicted of a sex offense after October 1, 1995
A person convicted of a listed offense on or before October 1, 1995, if on October 1, 1995, the person was on probation, parole, committed to jail, committed to the jurisdiction or under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Divisions of the Probate Court or the Michigan Department of Social Services for the offense.
A person convicted of an offense similar to a listed offense in another state, country or under tribal or military law.
A person from another state is required to register if they were required to do so in their state.

The following information is required to be reported by the offender:

Social Security Number
Date of Birth
Address or expected address
Brief summary of convictions.
Complete physical description
Digitized photo
Offender's fingerprints if not already on file
Blood type and DNA identification profile if available.
