Illinois Sex Offender Registries
Illinois State Police establishes and maintains the statewide sex offender database and makes it accessible via the Internet.  The registry identifies those individuals who have been convicted of certain sex offenses and or crimes against children.  Individuals who are required to register as sex offenders are those who have been charged of an offense listed in Illinois Compiled Statutes.  The Sex Offender Registry was created in response to the Illinois Legislature's determination to make this information available to the public for public safety reasons.  This information is update regularly but is subject to change and may not be completely accurate if a sex offender moves without registering his or her new residence.
