| The Idaho Sex Offender registration in Idaho was begun on July 1, 1993. The registry has also established a statutory duty for individuals who have been convicted of specific felony sex crimes to register with the local sheriff. In 1998, the Legislature repealed this original act and established the "Sexual Offenders Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act" that was designed to strengthen and expand public access to this information. The "Juvenile Sexual Offender Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act" was also created under new legislation in 1998. Previously, only juveniles that were convicted as adults were required to register. | ||||||
