The Georgia Bureau of Investigation maintains the central repository for Georgia's Violent Sexual Offender Registry. The registry holds all information pertaining to the sex offenders in the State of Georgia, including those who have been released from prison, placed on parole, probation or supervised released after July 1, 1996. Offenders must be registered by county of residence, employment and attending school. Search includes information on Georgia Sex Offenders, Georgia Absconders and Georgia sexual predators.

Individuals who have been convicted of a criminal offense against a victim who is a minor or a sexually violent offense must register with the sex offender registry. Individuals who have been found to be a sexually violent predator must also register. This only accounts for those people who have been convicted on or after July 1, 1996.

A "sexually violent predator" is an individual who has been convicted of a sexually violent offense and who suffers from a mental abnormality. They may also have a personality disorder or an attitude that places him or her at a risk of being sexually violent in the future.

Georgia requires that the following information be gathered:

Name
Current Address
Place of employment or vocation
Offense the person has been convicted of
Date released from prison or placed on parole, probation or supervised release.

Sexually violent predators must also provide the following information:

Descriptive physical and behavioral information.
Known current or proposed residence address
Documentation of any treatment received for a mental or personality abnormality.

Georgia Counties
