| Washington D.C. established their sex offender registration through the Sex Offender Registration Act of 1999. The act authorizes the DC Metropolitan Police Department to release sex offender information to the public. The registry maintains a list of Class A and Class B sex offender. The public may review the offender registry through the police districts or the Sex Offender Registry Unit. Information is regularly update, but may not contain information of those offenders who have failed to register or update their current residence, school, or place of employment. | ||||||

Metropolitan Police Department - Search for D.C. sex offenders through
the Sex Offender Registry. Site includes only Class A and Class B
offenders. Class C offenders may be viewed by going in person to one
of the registry offices.
DC Metropolitan Police Department If the offender committed a registration offense on or after July 11, 2000, the individual is required to register if they live, reside, work or attend school in Washington, D.C. If a person was in custody or under supervision for an offense on or after July 11, 2000, they must also register. If a person committed a registration offense in another jurisdiction within the registration period, they are required to register if they live, reside, attend school or work in D.C.
