Nebraska was admitted on March 1, 1867 to become the 37th state admitted into the Union.  The state is the 16th largest state in area and the 38th largest state in terms of population.  President Gerald Ford was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 14, 1913.  He was the 38th president and served from 1974 to 1977.
